Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large Bowl , combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water. Stir until the yeast is dissolved. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes.

Step 2

Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the Bowl and mix until a dough forms.

Step 3

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes.

Step 4

Place the dough in a lightly oiled Bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Step 5

Punch down the dough and divide into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and let rest for 10 minutes.

Step 6

Preheat the oven to 425°F.

Step 7

Roll each ball of dough out into a thin circle. Place on a lightly greased Baking Sheet .

Step 8

Top with desired toppings and bake for 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
